Kids today…

What is wrong with teenagers today? I’m not saying all are bad, but when did it get to the point that they just don’t care? They don’t care about their appearance, they don’t care about their grades, they don’t care about anything and everything it seems. In school, oh well if you give them a zero. They don’t care. You are going to fail this class, oh well, I’ll take credit recovery. Really? you have to have a 50 to get in that and right now you are no where close. Do they care, no they don’t because they think someone will pass them on.

Seniors who don’t know how to budget. When you draw up a budget and it’s three times more than what you will be lucky to make the first year out of high school is a problem. Where has society gone wrong with this generation? I have never seen a group of ‘kids’ that are so unprepared for the real-world and frankly they don’t care. Remember this is the group that will be taking care of you in the future. It’s really sad to think that all life is about to them is really nothing. Somebody please help.

I agree. To an extent some teenagers today are actually trying to do things with their life, but they are represented as weird or “the quiet kid” when all they want to do is focus on what is actually important. It is such a regression of the human mind in this day and age, it is really sad. But I know there are some teens who are just trying to fit in, but they will never understand that the group of people that you are around determine the way you act, or the way you portray yourself.

“A potato in a pot of cold water remains stable and strong, that same potato when placed in boiling water becomes soft and mushy.” Don’t let your environment dictate who you will become.

Great quote! I think too many teenagers try to “fit in” and they are not sure where they actually fit. I see so many that are longing for the love of parents and they don’t always have that. I want the best for my students and I want to see them achieve, I guess that’s why I’m so hard on them. When I know someone has potential and not using it, it really frustrates me. I never want anyone to succumb to what is around them. Anyone can always make better of themselves no matter what if given the right mindset.
